Kenya PVOC certification

The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) started to implement the Pre-Export Verification of Conformity to Standards (PVOC) plan on September 29, 2005.
Simply put, this is a conformity assessment and verification procedure for specific commodities applicable to exporting countries to ensure the quality of imported products and the health and safety of Kenyans, as well as environmental protection in compliance with Kenyan technical regulations and mandatory standards or approved The equivalent standard.

It should be noted that all goods in the PVOC catalog must obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by the KEBS authorized agency before shipment. The CoC certificate is a mandatory customs clearance document for Kenya. Without this certificate, the goods will be refused entry after they arrive at the Kenyan port.

2. Kenya PVOC certification application process:

1. Submit application materials:
01/ The exporter submits the Import Declaration Form (IDF), and the IDF applies in Kenya;

02/ Packing list, proforma invoice, complete application form (RFC for short), the application form should detail the condition of the goods;

03/ Test report, the laboratory that issued the test report has CNAS17025 qualification.

2.01/ Authorize the issuing agency to approve the inspection and notify the applicant after reviewing the materials;

02/ After the information is approved, the payment will be arranged, and the time for supervision and inspection will be determined at the same time
(The information on the product nameplate and mark must be exactly the same as the IDF).

3. After passing the supervision and inspection, the agency will issue a draft certificate, which will be confirmed by the applicant in time.

4. After confirmation, the PVOC customs clearance certificate will be issued.

Special reminder: The PVOC customs clearance certificate cannot be modified after the original is confirmed! Please be cautious when confirming the draft, and make sure that the product information on the certificate is exactly the same as the IDF
