1. REACH test
REACH testing is the EU market’s regulations on the registration, evaluation, licensing and restriction of chemicals; the use and content of toxic and hazardous substances in the REACH regulations are restricted, and REACH certification requires EU producers or importers to provide ) If the concentration in the product exceeds 0.1%, and the total amount of this substance contained in each producer/importer’s product exceeds 1 ton/year, it needs to be notified to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
2. REACH SVHC restricted substances
The purpose of the REACH regulation is to protect human health and the environment. The implementation of REACH has had a great impact on the electrical and electronic industries.
In order to comply with REACH, manufacturers or suppliers of electrical and electronic products should identify and control hazardous substances in their products, especially substances of very high concern (SVHC) and REACH restricted substances.
1. Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC)
a. Substances (SVHC) One of the following substances can be regarded as a substance of very high concern (SVHC).
b. Carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction (CMRs);
c. Persistence, bioaccumulation and toxicity (PBTs);
d. Very persistent and bioaccumulative (vPvBs);
e. Substances that seriously and/or irreversibly damage the environment or human health and are harmful to the hormone system;
3. How to prove that the product complies with the EU REACH standard
If the product is a chemical product (substance or mixture), when the volume of the substance exceeds 1 ton/year, it is necessary to ensure that each substance in it has been registered under EU REACH. The way to show compliance is to obtain the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) REACH registration number issued.
Fourth, the purpose of REACH testing
Protect human health and the environment, maintain and improve the competitiveness of the EU chemical industry; increase the transparency of chemical information; reduce vertebrate testing; be consistent with the EU’s international obligations under the WTO framework; in a substantial sense, REACH will be in the EU Create a unified chemical management system within the scope, so that companies can follow unified principles to produce new chemicals and their products.
Five, the difference between REACH testing and REACH registration
REACH testing refers to the testing of 219 substances in the SVHC list of substances of very high concern stipulated by the European Union. REACH registration means that according to the REACH regulations, registration applications can be submitted for three categories of people: (1) EU manufacturers (natural or legal persons domiciled in EU countries and manufacturing substances) (2) EU importer (natural or legal person domiciled in an EU country and responsible for the import) (3) The "sole representative" appointed by the non-EU manufacturer to settle in the EU .
