UKCA certification

The UKCA (British Conformity Assessment) mark is a new British product safety mark. The British government launched this mark to replace the CE mark after Brexit and become a product safety mark on the British market. UKCA covers most products that previously required CE marking. In terms of applicable areas, due to the Brexit agreement arrangements between Britain and Europe, the UKCA logo is only applicable to goods placed on the market in England, Scotland and Wales. In terms of applicable time, for most commodities, the CE mark will no longer be used as an access mark for the above-mentioned regions from January 1, 2022.

2. When to use the UKCA logo

If the product meets all of the following conditions, it must use the new UKCA mark before January 1, 2022:

♦ Put on the market in England, Scotland or Wales

♦ Subject to laws requiring the UKCA mark

♦ Compulsory third-party conformity assessment is required

♦ Conformity assessment is carried out by the British Conformity Assessment Agency

The above regulations do not apply to the inventory of existing products, for example, if the product has been manufactured, bears the CE mark and is ready to be placed on the market before January 1, 2021. In this case, products with a CE certificate can still be sold in England, Scotland or Wales, even if the certificate is issued by the relevant UK agency before January 1, 2021.
